McCaul’s handling of colour is extraordinary.  You get a real sense of home, with this painting of a farmhouse, nestled into the countryside, with darkness falling and a kind of glow emanating from the house that we feel symbolises warmth, family and cosiness. Padraig’s work is so evocative; he manages to make even the simplest of subject matters give us ‘the feels’ – evoking all kinds of emotions as we, the viewer, somehow immediately create our own narrative around what the painting means.
