Renowned stone sculptor, Shane Gilmore, has produced this gorgeous and thought-provoking piece of art. Modelled as though it were a piece of architectural stone, a slice removed from some stately old building, with beautiful detail down to the coving feature, Shane has carved in the nose and mouth of a face, emerging from the piece. A fabulous nod to the phrase ‘If these old walls could talk’ we are left wondering just what stories it would tell, if given the chance to speak. This would make a fabulous talking piece in any home or office, but particularly that of someone whose work life is entrenched in architecture, conservation or heritage work or indeed, interior design.
Shane Gilmore is a Clare artist of note – with many extraordinary pieces, including public sculptures, to his name. A wonderfully collectable artist.
