Extraordinary, streetscape artist, Delaney Davis, brings us this calm and beautiful oil painting, with an almost ethereal feel to it, of ‘Dublin in the Autumn’ (Merrion Square)
With a truly beautiful pink hue to the late evening sky, complemented perfectly by the autumn leaves on the trees and the red brick buildings, this striking piece of original art really packs a punch. Beautifully handled, this is another gorgeous urban scene from this American Irish artist. Drawn to architecture and objects, and painting streetscapes, there is such a fascinatingly honest and authentic feel to Delaney’s work. She likes to choose locations and subjects that are generally overlooked in passing by most of us going through our busy days. Though there are moments like this, that stop you in your tracks!

She sees beauty in the, perhaps, less obvious features, sometimes even in the darkness, in the shadows, and the industrial, from roadsides, to overhead wires to alleyways. Her work is wonderfully contemporary and fantastically collectable. Any of Delaney’s paintings would look superb in either a super, contemporary, modern space – as well as being equally charming in a cosy office or study or traditional living space.
