Artists Statement: 
“I enjoyed the challenge of sketching the road leading to Quilty from the direction of Spanish Point.  Finding the specific view that will compositionally work is a task that takes time and a lot of looking when working with a familiar landscape. The gentle undulating stretch of road, creates a dramatic sweep to the left, which I balance with the church tower on the right of this drawing.
Creating this image, has given me the chance to visually reflect on how this fragile small village holds its own on the edge of the stormy western sea board”.
