33″(84cm) x 46.5″(118cm) – oils on paper – Framed behind glass
Loop Head is breath-taking. From dramatic coastlines, to world renowned geology and a strong heritage, the peninsula is not short of stories or scenery. But one of the most dramatic of spots, is the famous end-stretch of the prominent headland, depicted here by greatly admired artist, Kaye Maahs. This oil painting itself is also quite dramatic in size and impact, and is beautifully accurate of both the landscape and it’s varying colours. Kaye has an international fan base and her work causes much excitement in art circles.
Featuring Loop Head Lighthouse, the famous sea stack called Diarmuid & Gráinne’s rock (or Sampson’s Island) and also the world war II EIRE sign, which is also a very important part of the peninsula’s history, the painting – at an impressive 46 inches wide and framed behind glass – packs one hell of a punch. Superb work once again from Maahs.
