There are two working piers in the small fishing village of Carrigaholt, in Co. Clare. This one, being the Pier closest to the extraordinary, historic, Carrigaholt Castle. Locals and visitors to the area will be very familiar with this view. However, you may of course simply enjoy the painting regardless of where it is. It sums up a working pier in the West of Ireland beautifully.
