“Day Fades to Night” is a gorgeous mixed media piece of art, that truly encapsulates those precious golden moments, as the light turns to dark.

Known for her love and appreciation of her surroundings, textile artist, mixed media artist, author and photographer, Kim Thittichai, takes time out from her studio to enjoy and appreciate the incredible sunsets, sunrises and wild seas that are visible and ever changing from her home on the Loop Head Peninsula. The fabulous, rich, colours she manages to achieve in her work, make for beautifully striking pieces of original work. This part of Loop Head is known by astrologers for its dark skies and they do certainly feel like they are going on for miles.

Using recycled papers, acrylic paint and fusible web and protected by several layers of acrylic wax, Thittichai manages to achieve the colours, forms and shapes that bring her life to work. Her process is a culmination of everything she has taught and developed over the past 30 years.
