“The architecture and landscape of Quilty, with its distinctive round tower, surrounded by fishermen cottages is a village that visually reflects the history of place so clearly. Heroic local fishermen risked their lives to save those on board a shipwrecked freighter during a storm in 1907. The bravery of the men was recognised and rewarded by donations to build a local church. I remember the story of this place each time I travel past here”.
