Ruth Wood is one of Clare’s most established and celebrated artists. Perhaps best known for her striking pen & ink and watercolour paintings of buildings and landscapes, she is also much sought after for her original acrylics on canvas (always super exciting when we get some in).  This gorgeous piece, Green Barn & Pink Bales, is part of a new series of 2020 artworks by this exciting artist.

Ruth says of this painting, …”This image is based on a roadside barn heading to Cross from Kilkee. I worked this painting from a quick sketch and a couple of photos taken on a bright winter day. A full haybarn fronted by a nest of pink silage bales is my visual eulogy to nurturing small farming practices”.
