In the wilds of the West of Ireland, particularly along the West Coast, the trees that do survive, are generally bearing the brunt of the prevailing winds. This oil painting of a cottage, hidden, tucked away and sheltered in the meadow – with a single, windblown tree in the foreground, is another lovely example of that superb, Padraig McCaul ‘simplicity’, that we have come to know and love.
