We simply adore this painting by Ruth Wood.  Sculptor Jim Connolly hails from Limerick and in fact was the sculptor behind the Bard of Thomond that stands proudly outside King John’s castle today –  so for many reasons, Ruth’s Limerick pieces tug on our heartstrings. Ruth’s level of detail is extraordinary. People from Limerick or those who have visited, will be more than familiar with the grand and impressive structure of King John’s Castle, which is located in the Kings Island area of the city.  Ruth has captured the castle, surrounding houses and the bridge beautifully.  This would make a fabulous gift as well as maybe a lovely office or study piece.
