This is not the first time that the expanse of flat, plain-like landscape of Loop Head has been likened to prairie by artists. The lack of trees and wide continuous grassy fields, broken here and there only by agricultural sheds and telephone wires, does have a distinct prairie-like feel to it and this entire mood is captured superbly by Kaye Maas in this beautiful little oil painting.
