Wickham just seems to straddle that sweet spot between realism and arty so perfectly and so on-point – that it’s impossible not to be instantly drawn to her work. This spaniel’s face is so ridiculously cute, accurate and realistic rather like a photograph – while also being ‘very much’ a fabulous piece of art; owing perhaps to her jet black canvas, her superb use of light and shade and her wonderful understanding of colour.  We just love this piece so much ….
