People on the Land

Be still our beating hearts …. this recent addition to the gallery walls has us all in a tail spin. We are in love.
People on the land by Danny Vincent Smith is a superb, competent and very eye catching piece of work, beautifully framed and perfectly sized. Once again, its Smith’s extraordinary knowledge of colour that brings it home every time. His use of bright teals, splashes of red and rusty orange and even dashes of pink in the land, is so brave and works so very, very well – the fast drying nature of acrylics allows the freedom for this bravery.  The people depicted are just so incredibly familiar, heading off over the land, with purpose. Smith’s subjects are always so well chosen and so nostalgic. He truly is a master.
