This particular original charcoal and chalk drawing / artwork is a departure from the oil paintings we know and love from artist Aideen Monaghan – but is such an exciting style of work. Because this large scale type of original sketching would look amazing in a bright and contemporary space, there follows a somewhat beautiful contradiction, in a sense, of such a traditional rural scene having such an almost urban (or least uber-contemporary) appeal. With charcoal not being an easy medium either, the artists talent is even more evident here.
