Carmel has always appreciated, highlighted and even taught, the merits of  Japanese influences in the art world. Combine this with her love of nature and it is no surprise that she has melded the two with this most recent, painting. ‘Vertical Garden’.  An oil on paper composition, this is Carmel’s take on the Japanese Vertical Garden; a phenomenon that is now being implemented in many public buildings and indeed apartments across the world due to its air filtering and space saving attributes. Gardens planted on vertical panels instead of horizontal, are also quite the visual spectacle – so it makes perfect sense that it would inspire Carmel to create such an impactful and delightful piece of original art.
